Reverend Merrillyn K. Smith

Reverend Merrillyn K. Smith, 76, of Terre Haute, passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2021 in her home.

She was born September 30, 1944 in Whittier, California to Merrill E. Nicholls and Vanita Wallin Nicholls.

Reverend Merrillyn Smith was the Senior Pastor of the Terre Haute Foursquare Gospel Church. She also served as the Business Office Manager of the Terre Haute Public Library for twenty years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Reverend Thomas G. Smith, who passed away May 4, 2006.

Merrillyn is survived by her sons, John Smith (Candy), Thomas Smith (Barbie) and Kenneth Smith (Mandee); her brother, Glenn Nicholls; her sister, Jeannette Graham (Doug); her beloved grandchildren, Andrea Fitch (Joe), Dereck Smith (Joyce), Rhainey Ault, Parker Ault, Rhyan Smith, Jordan Smith (Kelsay), Glenn Smith, Sabrina Beard (Ryan), Jesse Smith, Faith Smith, Jacobe Smith, and Meryn Smith; as well as eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 20, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Foursquare Gospel Church, 800 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana, with Dr. Daniel Mundt officiating. In keeping with her wishes, cremation will follow services. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial contributions to Foursquare Food Pantry. Envelopes will be available at the church.
