Robert Andrew "Bobby V" Vallandingham

Robert Andrew “Bobby V” Vallandingham, 34 of West Terre Haute, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025 in IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Portsmouth, VA on September 19, 1990 to Jay Darin Vallandingham and Connie Rose Study Vallandingham.

Bobby grew up in Pensacola, FL, moved to Indiana in 2006, and went on to graduate from Eastern Greene High School in 2008. He received both his Bachelor’s degree and his Doctorate in Athletic Training from Indiana State University. After graduation from ISU, he served as an intern athletic trainer with the Indianapolis Colts and later was named the athletic trainer at West Vigo High School. He also served in various other roles at West Vigo, including assistant coach with the baseball and basketball programs, and a substitute teacher at both the Middle School and the High School. He later became a middle school special education teacher, served as athletic events manager and became the freshman basketball coach at West Vigo High School. Bobby was a member of West Side Christian Church, NATA, and IATA.

Bobby is survived by his parents Jay and Connie Vallandingham, and his brother David Vallandingham (wife Samantha). Also surviving is niece Olive, and nephew Henry, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Jack and Jean Vallandingham, maternal grandparents Richard, Sr. and Bonnie Study, uncles Richard Study, Jr., and Michael Welcome, and cousins Kristi Nichols and Jason Study.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the West Vigo High School, 4590 West Sarah Myers Dr., West Terre Haute, IN 47885 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 with Pastor Chris Wilbur officiating. Funeral services will be held at West Side Christian Church, 126 North 8th Street, West Terre Haute, IN 47885 on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at 3:00 PM, with Pastor Chris Wilbur officiating. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday from 1:00 – 3:00 PM in the church. Cremation will follow services. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to The Indiana Donor Network or the" Bobby V” Scholarship Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of Fitzpatrick Funeral Home.
