Rose Marie (Lascurain) Harris

Rose Marie Harris, 73 of West Terre Haute, passed away in her residence on Wednesday, February 12, 2020.  She was born in Madera County, CA on April 18, 1946 to Nello Lascurain and Edith Akers Lascurain.

Rose retired as a supervisor with Columbia Records and enjoyed playing cards with her family.

Rose is survived by her husband of 56 years, James “Butch” Harris, whom she married February 22, 1964.  She is also survived by her children; James William “Jimmy” Harris, Jr., Sherry Harris, Cheryl Harris, John M. Harris (wife Meghan), Brandon L. Harris, Jeremy Elkins, Chevy Elkins, and Gage Elkins.  She is also survived by six sisters; Carol Weir (husband George), Brenda Schoenwolf (husband Don), Barbara Hoopingarner (husband Glen), Bertha Hoopingarner (husband Tim), Juanita Pickens (husband Emitt), and Ethel Niccum, and also by three brothers; John Lascurain, Michael Niccum, and Joseph Turner as well as a brother-in-law, Albert Fleschner.  She also leaves behind 6 grandchildren; C.J. Elkins, Heather Elkins, Brookie Harris, Jimmy Harris III, Lincoln Harris and Waylon Harris, as well as several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and a special caregiver, Mary Johnson.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Edith Jo Harris, and a sister, Helen Fleschner.

Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220m North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Friday, February 14, 2020 at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Dennis Leek officiating.   Burial will follow at Bethesda Memorial Park.  Visitation is scheduled for Friday from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
