Rosemary (Blanc) McCoy, 93, of West Terre Haute, Indiana passed away on November 1, 2021, after a brief stay at the Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care.
Rosemary was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on October 17, 1928, the daughter of Jules Louis and Florence (Blakely) Blanc. She attended Valley High School in West Terre Haute, Indiana. On December 20, 1947, Rosemary married Bennie McCoy. They spent 54 years together enjoying their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Rosemary and Bennie enjoyed numerous vacations with family traveling to forty-seven states, seven Canadian provinces, and Mexico. In 2008, Rosemary fulfilled a lifelong dream of traveling to Paris, France. Rosemary loved flowers and working in her beautiful flower gardens. She also enjoyed rooting for the Chicago Cubs. Rosemary was a natural in the kitchen and was known especially for her baking. She spent over 20 years as a baker in the cafeteria at West Vigo Elementary School.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, Louie and Florence; husband Bennie; and brother Albert Blanc.
Rosemary is survived by her children: Vicki Ramer and husband Paul, Steve McCoy and wife Vivian, and Harold McCoy and wife Glenda; grandchildren: Tammy Kikta (Pete), Tracy Powers (Terry), Brent McCoy (Melyssa), Brad Schaffer (Amy), and John McCoy (Andrea); great-grandchildren: Levi Powers (Cynthia), Morgan Powers (Trevor Gibson), Jordan Schaffer, Kamryn Kikta, Savannah McCoy, Macy Schaffer, Gavin McCoy, Karsyn Kikta, and Monroe McCoy; great-great-grandchildren: Eleanora Powers and Amelia Powers; special in-laws: Barbara Hoopingarner, Shirley Mace, Jack McCoy, Bob Canada, Emma and Cleo Spickard, several nieces, nephews, and extended family members; and special friends and caregivers from Harrison’s Crossing.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021, from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd Street, West Terre Haute, Indiana. Services will be at the funeral home on Saturday at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Bob Roush officiating; burial will be in Vermilion Cemetery.
