Samantha Dawn (McGranahan) Russell

Samantha Dawn McGranahan Russell, 30 of West Terre Haute, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2023 in Union Hospital.  She was born in Terre Haute on May 20, 1993 to Roy McGranahan and Rose Johnson McGranahan.

Samantha collected Starbucks cups and loved her pets.  Because she was so thoughtful, she was recognized as the best “gift giver” and the best “Aunt Sammy” ever.

Samantha is survived by her husband Kyle Russell, her parents, Roy and Rose McGranahan, and her brother, Eric Johnson.  She is also survived by her best friend/sister Jackie Froeb (Tyler), two cousins, Rose Stevens and Tiffany Chambers, her cousin/brother Jeremy Elkins (Stella Switzer), and nieces and nephews; Trevor Froeb, Garrett Froeb, Karli Elkins, and Kolton Elkins.  She was preceded in death by her grandmother Brenda Wycoff, her grandfather Loren Johnson, her uncle Butchie Johnson, her aunt Phyllis sons, her great grandmother Betty Phipps, and her cousin Cassidy Sons.

Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Friday, August 25, 2023 at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Chris Wilbur officiating.  Burial will follow in New Vermillion Cemetery.  Visitation is scheduled for Friday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM in the funeral home.
