Shirley Ann (King) Hedden, 77, of West Terre Haute passed away November 18, 2024, in her home surrounded by family. She was born December 9, 1946, in Terre Haute, Indiana. She worked as a food deliverer for Meals on Wheels in West Terre Haute as well as working for the voter registration in West Terre Haute, helping those during elections. She was the manager of the Dairy Queen in West Terre Haute, as well as the Dairy Queen in Terre Haute. She also worked as a teacher’s aide in the special-needs class at West Vigo Elementary. She loved her family, especially her grandkids. Shirley was preceded in death by her mother Betty Myers and step-father Charles Myers and her husband, Billie Ray Hedden, who she married in 1962, as well as brothers, Bill King Jr., and Paul Myers, sisters, Jean Crummrin, Alice Fagg and Bobbie Hammond. She is survived by her son, Scott Hedden (Teri), her daughters Tammie Akers (Ron) and Lisa Newburn (Mark), brothers Chuck King, Jim King, Fred Archer and brothers-in-law, Richard Crummrin, Dick Hedden and Rick Hedden, and sister, Mary Scank (Gus), and grandchildren, Bradley, Kellie, Kilee, Dylan, Brandi, Erin, Kristopher, Jeremy, Adam, Courtney, Deana and Kendra along with 20 great grandchildren, and her best friend for the last 6 years, Knox Bradley, who she enjoyed spending all her time with, and dogs, Duke, Sissy, and Maggie, and several nieces nephews. Cremation was chosen with a celebration of life scheduled at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Fitzpatrick Funeral Home.
