Stephen R. Weger

Stephen R. Weger, 72 of West Terre Haute, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 in Union Hospital. He was born in West Terre Haute on June 20, 1952 to George Weger and Grace Buchanan Weger.

Steve was a custodial supervisor at ISU and former owner of Steve’s Cleaning Service, and member of Sugar Creek Baptist Church. His family was very important to him, especially his kids and grandkids.

Steve is survived by his wife of 29 years, Trena Goatee Weger and five children; Stephen Ray Weger, Jr., Danny Ray Weger, Catina Jarvis (Patrick), James E. Hollifield, and Todd Sowers, Jr. (wife Sarah preceded in death). He is also survived by his grandchildren; Dakota W., Danny, Brittany, Cody, Dusten, Casey, Bobby, Courtney Rice, Austin, Corey, Rusty, NashRay, Christian, and Isaac. Steve is also survived by a sister Darlene "Susie" Elder and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two grandchildren, Dakota Hart and Sheena Hart, as well as several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, In on Monday, July 1, 2024 at 1:00 PM, with Dr. Tom Savage officiating. Burial will follow in Bethesda Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled for Monday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM in the funeral home.
