Steve L. Dunham entered into eternal peace on March 13 at his home with his family. He was born on October 30, 1945 in Linton, IN to George and Leila Dunham.
Steve enjoyed being outdoors with friends and family. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He retired from Peabody Coal Mine where he was a passionate heavy equipment operator for over 20 years. Steve spent his last working years with the Sisters of Providence where he helped set the foundation for the White Violet Center. He leaves his loving memories to be shared and stories to be retold by those who knew him best.
Steve will be missed by his beloved wife, Carol, of 50 years; his daughters Shannon Goodrick of West Terre Haute, IN, Amy Marchino (fiancé Keith Favre) of Terre Haute, IN and Sara Lindsey (Matt) of West Terre Haute; 8 grandchildren; Kenzie Freeman (Jeffery), Andrew Ross, Jordan Ross, Conner Goodrick, Savannah Marchino (Calvin Riddle), Tyler Lindsey, Nick Lindsey, and Addisyn Lindsey, and 4 great grandchildren; sister Marlene Greenwood of Vincennes, IN, brother Gary (Donna) Dunham of West Terre Haute as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, mother and other special family and friends.
Steve served in the United States Air Force and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War.
The family would like to thank Hospice of the Wabash Valley / VNA Hospice for their care and support during Steve’s illness.
Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN, on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Bob Roush officiating. Burial will follow at New Vermillion Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
