Steven R. McCoy

Steven R. McCoy, 70, of West Terre Haute, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 in The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care.  He was born in Terre Haute on February 10, 1951 to Bennie McCoy and Rosemary Blanc McCoy.

Steve was a maintenance mechanic for Hoosier Energy and was a member of IBEW Local # 1393.

Steve is survived by his wife Vivian McGaffney McCoy whom he married March 11, 1972 and their two sons, Brent McCoy (Melyssa) and John McCoy (Andrea).  Also surviving are his siblings, Vicki Ramer (Paul), and Harold McCoy (Glenda), and his grandchildren; Savannah McCoy, Gavin McCoy, and Monroe McCoy, as well as two sisters-in-law, Shawn May (Alex), and Robbin Grigsby (Danny), and nieces and nephews; Tammy Kikta (Pete), Tracy Powers (Terry), Angie Collins (John), Brad Shaffer (Amy), Jennifer Williams (Phil), and Sarah Taylor (Josh), as well as several aunts, uncles, and great nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and a nephew, Matthew May.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Monday, January 3, 2022 at 4:30 PM, with visitation beginning at 2:00 PM in the funeral home.  In honoring his wishes, cremation has been chosen with burial of ashes at a later date in Black Cemetery.
