Susan Eileen (Huey) Neice

Susan Eileen Neice, age 69, passed away August 10, 2019, with her family by her side.  The daughter of Paul Huey and Dorothy Huey, Susan was born May 28, 1950, in Terre Haute, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her brothers Edward and Donnie Huey.

Susan is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Jack Neice, as well as her sons and daughters Chris Neice and Bethany Kortz of Terre Haute, Indiana; and Marvin Neice and Michelle (Micki) Hopkins of Seattle, Washington; and sisters Paula Forbes, Bonnie Harmon, and Katie Cox; multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins; and two spoiled cats, Burton and Samuel.

For over 20 years, Susan worked at Indiana Family Social Services where she met many wonderful people and long-lasting friends.

A loving wife and devoted mother, Susan inspired those around her with gentle hands, the kindest of hearts, and an unconditional love for family and friends.  She loved quilting and crocheting; her Mustang and collecting seashells on the beach. Susan’s passion for music, movies, reading, gardening, flowers, and a love of animals greatly influenced her sons which she raised to be outstanding gentlemen.  Susan treasured family, holidays, and bringing joy to others.  More than anything, she loved her husband, sons, and daughters as only a mother can.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 15, 2019, at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd Street, West Terre Haute, IN, 47885., at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Dennis Leek officiating.  Burial will follow at Bethesda Memorial Park.  Family and friends may gather for visitation from 10:00 AM until service time.
