Terry Lou VanGilder

Terry Lou VanGilder, 62, of West Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away March 7, 2025, in Union Hospital. He was born June 3, 1962, in Terre Haute to Robert VanGilder and Naomi McConkey VanGilder. Terry worked as a guard at the Federal Prison, where he worked over 30 years before retiring. He also worked part time for the Parks department. Terry was a member of the Young Men’s Club in West Terre Haute. Terry was an outstanding cook; he could do it all. He was a great father to his children, a wonderful husband to his wife. He loved to fish; and could fix just about anything.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Susan VanGilder (m. 2/22/1986), his children; Kara Huebner (Dayton), Justin, Abigail, and Madison VanGilder, brothers; Rob VanGilder (Alisa), Jack VanGilder, and Jerry VanGilder (Lisa), grandchildren; Myah Huebner, Coraline Huebner, and Deion Batten, a mother-in-law, Rita Brown, and his furry best buddy, Kot’e.

Cremation was chosen with a burial of remains at a later date.
