V. Louise (Lowe) Maples

V. Louise Maples, 82 of West Terre Haute, passed away at 5:15 AM on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Union Hospital in Clinton.  She was born in Vigo County on August 31, 1937 to Everett Lowe and Beulah Krise Lowe.

Louise worked in catering at St. Mary-of-the-Woods, she loved spending time with her family and enjoyed fishing, playing basketball with her son, cooking and baking, and going to flea markets with her husband.

Louise is survived by four children; Mary Correll (Charlie), Sue Elrod (her late companion Alfred May), Diane Maples (Dale), and James Maples, Jr. (Cindy).  Also surviving are her grandchildren; Jimmy Elrod III (Laci), Amanda Creasy Garrett (Aaron), Ciera Maples, Jimmy Maples, and Rhiana Maples, great grandchildren; Mazie Creasey, Marlie Creasey, Shadd Garrett, Arista Garrett, Taylor Elrod, Emmit Maples, and Malachai Elrod, as well as a great great grandson, Grayson Stilts.  She also leaves behind her siblings; Rev. David Lowe (Pat), Danny Darkis (Rennee), and Naomi Lowe (Bill), and a sister-in-law, Linda Lowe, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett Lowe and Beulah Krise Darkis, her husband of 62 years,  James  Maples, Sr., who passed away February 8, 2016, two granddaughters, Misty Elrod and Amy Creasey, a sister, Winnie Lowe, brothers Allen Lowe and Clyde Lowe, and a niece, Normetta Leek.

Funeral services for Louise will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Dennis Leek officiating.  Burial will follow at Bethesda Memorial Park.  Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday from 9:00 -11:00 AM at the funeral home.
