Virgie Ellen Carter, 84 of West Terre Haute, passed away on Tuesday, July 30th, 2024. She was born in Mouthcard, Kentucky on December 28th, 1939, to Kenis Darnell and Opal Johnson.
Virgie was a member of Emanuel United Methodist Church as well as the Red Hat Society. In her spare time, she loved to garden, knit, sew, crochet, and read her books. She and her husband were happily married for 59 years.
Virgie is survived by her two children; Michael Carter (wife Dina), and Michele Dunkley (husband William). Grandchildren; Jeremy (wife Bryttany), Blake (wife Katie), Chad (wife Tiffany), Wyatt (wife Brittany), Jessie, Brianna (Fiancé Ron), Ashley (Fiancé Lashawn), Kelsey (Brandon), Tabitha, and Mathew. As well as great grandchildren; Kaleb, Brynley, Bryley, Zaine, Piper, Bentley, Sophia, Ember, Lanie, Maley, Ron III, Zoella, Zamiah, Ryan, Payson, Kyle, and Danica. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul Carter of 59 years, as well as two sisters, Sue Ramey and Charlotte Pennington.
In keeping with Virgie’s wishes cremation has been chosen with no service. The family would also like to extend their thanks to Southern Care Hospice as well as Southwood Healthcare Center for their amazing and loving care.
