Virginia L. Pershing

Virginia L. Pershing, 86 of West Terre Haute, passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2021 in Union Hospital.  She was born in West Terre Haute on February 19, 1935 to Charles Spitler and Mary Collins Spitler.

Virginia is survived by seven children; Laura Kluesner, Mary Lynn Tevlin, Jack Vester (Sheila), Michael Pershing (Mica), Charles Pershing (Sally), Randall Pershing, and Marie Monnett.  She is also survived by two sisters; Margaret Deckard, and Rosemary Poppe as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jacob Pershing, three children; Richard Vester, Jacob Pershing, Jr., and Alice Marie Vester, as well as extended children; Ronald Pershing, Carol Like, Betty Lou Vester, Jim Pershing.

Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Friday, December 3, 2021 at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Dustin Spitler officiating.  Burial will follow in New Vermillion Cemetery.  Visitation is scheduled for Friday from 11:00 AM until time of service in the funeral home.
