Virginia Elizabeth (Waggoner) Smith

Virginia Elizabeth Smith, 81, of West Terre Haute passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018 in Signature Healthcare.

She was born January 20, 1937 in Clay County to Zeland Waggoner and Maxine Hart Waggoner.

Virginia was a seamstress at Theodore Rich. She was a member of West Side Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Zeland Waggoner; her mother and stepfather, Maxine and Chester Ingerson; her husband, Olen Wayne Smith, who passed away in June 2007. Virginia was also preceded in death by her sister, Rebecca Waggoner.

She is survived by her children, Dorothy Deverick and her husband, Buzz, Daniel Cooper and his wife, Judy, Mable Morris, Joyce Kelley and her husband, Rob, Gayle Westfall and her husband, Randy, and Rita Reed; her sister, Darlene Marquardt; her brothers, Howard Waggoner, Pete Waggoner and Charles Waggoner; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N. 3rd Street, West Terre Haute; with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Pastor Chris Wilbur will be officiating; burial will be in New Vermillion Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to McMillin Adult Day Services or Heart to Heart Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
