Waller George "Walt" Phillips

Waller George “Walt” Phillips, 77 of Madison, IN and formerly of West Terre Haute, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2023 in Norton King’s Daughters Health in Madison.  He was born in West Terre Haute on March 7, 1946 to William Henry Phillips and Ethelberta Ross Phillips.

Walt was a Union Carpenter with Carpenters Local Union # 133 and was former owner of Wally’s Pizza in West Terre Haute.  He enjoyed playing cards, boating, hunting, and spending time with his grandkids.

Walt is survived by his wife Patricia Ann “Pat” Phillips, whom he married July 3, 1964.  Also surviving is a daughter, Terri Davis, “adopted” daughter and great granddaughter Kloe Taylor, grandchildren Tiffany Taylor and Taylor Davis, as well as “adopted” grandchildren Jack Steiner, Jr. (Sarah) and Megan Karaus (Brian), a sister, Patty Hayes, two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Phillips and Karen Martin, special friends Jack and Jean Steiner, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as four siblings; Henry Phillips, Harvey Phillips, Judy Treash, and Marjorie Smith.

Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Friday, September 8, 2023 at 6:00 PM.  Cremation will follow services.  Visitation is scheduled for Friday from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM in the funeral home.
