Wanda R Cooper

Wanda R. Cooper, 78, of Terre Haute formerly of West Terre Haute passed away at 2:42 p.m. Thursday February 16, 2017 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. She had been employed with Columbia Records in the Quality Control department. She was born September 25, 1938 in West Terre Haute to Joseph Francis Robinson and Rose Ellen Swickard Robinson. Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Cynthia L. Long and James of Champaign, IL and Peggy S. Bryant and Alan of Terre Haute; a son and his wife Michael T. Cooper and Patty of Dennison, IL; two grandsons David Long (Leah) of Ankeny, Iowa and Matthew Long of Champaign, IL; a granddaughter Christina R. Cooper of Terre Haute; three step-grandsons Glenn Brock (Cari), Brian Chesshir, and Travis Chesshir (Melissa); a brother Thomas L. Robinson (Jackie) of Walcott, Iowa; a sister-in-law Phyllis Robinson of West Terre Haute; eight step-great grandchildren; a special niece Barbara Carter of Baxter, TN; and several other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband Thomas A. Cooper; her step-father Ike Price; her step-mother Mary Abrams Laing Robinson; four brothers Joe James Robinson, Bob Robinson and his wife Phyllis, Kenny Robinson and his wife Catherine, and Bill Robinson; a sister Ruth Carter; a sister-in-law Helen Medley; a nephew Randy Carter; and a niece Diana Robinson. Wanda loved reading and cooking, and she enjoyed the company of her cat Toby. Care and arrangements were entrusted to Fitzpatrick Funeral Home. A private graveside service and burial was in Bethesda Memorial Park. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
