Waunita F. (Candler) Cain

Waunita F Cain, 103, of West Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away at 9:28 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2019, in Signature Healthcare.

She was born December 4, 1915 in West Terre Haute, Indiana to Frank Candler and Alma Greene Candler.

Waunita was a member of the First Baptist Church of West Terre Haute and O.E.S. Chapter # 428.

Waunita was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Leroy Nelson Fields in 1975 and second husband, Bill Cain in 2014; one stepson, Steve Cain, her sister Frances D. Taylor and brother-in-law Harold W. Taylor.

She is survived by two children, Nancy Augustus (Paul) and Jack Fields ( Lynnette); two step- daughters, Patty LeConte (Jeff) and Jane Cain. Also surviving are her grandchildren; Karen Vicars, Kathleen Lammert (Joe), Jeff Augustus (Bekah), Jack D. Fields II (Terri), Keith Augustus ( Stephanie), Kevin Augustus( Joyce), and Jason Fields, and a sister-in-law, Darlene Cain,  as well as 16 great- grandchildren; 6 great- great grandchildren; and 1 niece; 1 nephew.

Services will be held Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N 3rd Street, West Terre Haute, Indiana, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Her grandson, Pastor Jeff Augustus will be officiating; burial will be in Bethesda Cemetery.  The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to First Baptist Church of West Terre Haute, 205 South 5th St., West Terre Haute, IN 47885.
