William E. Fields

William E. Fields, 91 of West Terre Haute, passed away at 12:33 AM on Sunday, 12, 2020 in the Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care.

He retired from Tredegar in 1993 after 41 years of service.  He served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Midway.

William was born July 28, 1928 in West Terre Haute to William and Gladys Fields.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Cathy Fields of Cincinnati, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Leigh Fields of St. Cloud, Florida; six grandchildren, Steffanie Ansbaugh (Chad), Mika Farling (Shad), Trent Fields, Chase Fields, Nate Fields, and Tanner Fields; seven great grandchildren, Bailey, Braxton, Brody, Gavin, Gracey, Grayson, and Jaxson; and many nieces and nephews.

William was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Vera Evelyn Fields, who passed away on October 17, 2016; a son, Mike Fields, who passed away on October 28, 2015, as well as brothers and sisters.

In honor of William’s wishes, cremation has been chosen.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Westside Christian Church on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at 1:00 PM.  Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN was entrusted with care and arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial contributions to either Westside Christian Church or the West Terre Haute Little League, in his memory.  Online condolences can be left at:  www.fitzpatrickfunerals.com
