James E. Toney

James E. Toney, 84, of Terre Haute passed away January 10, 2020 in Brandenton Hospice.

He was born February 21, 1935 in Vigo County to Leroy Toney and Ruby Storey Toney.

James was a truck driver with the Teamster’s Union and worked for Liquid Carbonic.He was also the former owner of Hwy 41 Bar & Grill in Lyford, Indiana.  He was a member Rosedale Masonic Lodge F&AM #333, Terre Haute Moose Lodge and Terre Haute Eagles Aeries Lodge #291.

James was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Linda L. Toney, who passed away in 1999; his son, Rick D. Toney, who passed away in 2016; and siblings, Bill Toney, Jack Toney and Betty Roscoe.

He is survived by his children, Vanessa Runnels (Tim), Gregg Toney (Marsha), Jackie Mitchell (Mike), Scott Toney (Beth) and Kevin Toney (Debbie); his grandchildren, Jamie Walters (John), Cody Mitchell, Jodi Fennell, D.J. Evinger (Laura), Craig Toney (Angie), Kristin Toney, Nathan Toney (Alicia), Austin Toney, Ashlee Lane (Tim), Taylor Toney, Zachary Toney and Madison Toney; his great grandchildren, Lily Walters, Laela Mitchell, Summer Cooper, Caiden Toney, Kennedy Toney, Chloe Toney and Marcus Lane; and his long-time companion, Mary Heyen. He is also survived by his siblings, Chuck Toney, Jerry Toney and Beverly Lyon.

Services will be held Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd Street, West Terre Haute, Indiana, with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service time.
