Richard Albert “Honk” Elkins, 53 of West Terre Haute, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 in Union Hospital.  He was born in Terre Haute on May 12, 1969 to Ted Elkins and Betty Thomas Elkins.

Honk is survived by three sons; Josh Johnson, Jeremy Elkins (Stella), and Aaron Elkins, his significant other of 32 years, Mary Johnson, as well as 6 siblings; Thelma Smith (Kenny), Donna Boatman, Lyla Elkins (Jury), Billie Jo Elkins (Bill), Sam Elkins, and Kay Roberts (Pete).  He is also survived by 4 grandchildren; Hunter Johnson, Lily Johnson, Karli Elkins, and Kolton Elkins, his canine companion, Zeus, as well as several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his siblings; Ted Elkins, Steve Elkins, and Laura Elkins.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at 1:00 PM, with Todd Umphries officiating.  Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday from 12 Noon until time of service.  In keeping with his wishes, cremation will follow services.
